Danny Heath Commits to Minnesota State

PF Chang’s U18AAA defenseman Danny Heath committed yesterday to Head Coach Troy Jutting to attend Minnesota State and become a Maverick for the 2009 hockey season. Heath will be the fourth Maverick from the state of Arizona, and just the second since the team went to Division I and joined the WCHA.

Congratulations to PF Chang's U18AAA forward Kyle Beattie and defenseman Philip Samuelsson who were selected in the USHL 2007 Futures Draft held October 3, 2007. Beattie was selected in the first round by the Omaha Lancers and Samuelsson was selected in the second round by the Chicago Steel.

Occasionally we at the PF Chang’s Hockey Program encounter players from out of state wishing to play hockey here in Arizona at an elite level. This is where billet families enter into the picture. The billeting concept is something of a hockey tradition, and is especially important at the junior level of hockey. It involves host families opening their homes to out-of-state or out-of-country players, and provides an opportunity for these young men to pursue the next step in their developing hockey careers.
